This is history in a nutshell. It begins with tuberculosis, which takes Stanisław Witkiewicz to the town of Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains. There, he creates the Zakopane Style… and with that, Polish applied art is born. As we move on along the timeline, we watch the emergence of Polish art déco and encounter the avant-garde. After the Second World War, designers become an intrinsic part of the production process and the term ‚industrial design’ is used to describe their work.
